2018-03-26 12:30:38 UTC

2018-03-26 12:30:43 UTC

2018-03-26 12:30:46 UTC

iirc @Kaytee

2018-03-26 12:39:32 UTC

@Spethanie for first ever machine.. Anet A8

2018-03-26 12:39:51 UTC

Community upgrade parts for it are quite good

2018-03-26 12:40:52 UTC

Its one of those models what you upgrade continously and tweak to suit your needs

2018-03-26 12:43:52 UTC

hi

2018-03-26 12:44:20 UTC

@Spethanie how much work and learning are you willing to put in

2018-03-26 12:45:34 UTC

if you have the time and motivation for it the best printer for your money is the tronxy x5s, hands down, nothing even comes close, but it will be a _lot_ of work and digging through forums and documentation of other projects and possibly hunting for parts if you've never built any sort of robot before

2018-03-26 12:46:15 UTC

if you don't wanna build something from a box of bare parts, i'd say the cr-10

2018-03-26 12:46:41 UTC

it's BIG, it's cheap, it's almost entirely ready to go out of the box, and has awesome community and manufacturer support

2018-03-26 12:48:03 UTC

the x5s is even bigger, while having a smaller footprint on your desk, WAY faster, more precise, more easily customized

2018-03-26 12:49:35 UTC

that said, it's tronxy, so you might have some missing parts qc issues, any given part is cheap but you have to know what to look for if something is missing

2018-03-26 12:50:50 UTC

if you want something _super_ beginner friendly, the maylan m100 is your best bet, but it is tiny. You will want something bigger way sooner than you might expect

2018-03-26 12:51:22 UTC

and you can get several times bigger for like a hundred bucks more, so...

2018-03-26 12:51:27 UTC

Neat, the X5 is on sale for 200 at walmart.

2018-03-26 12:51:44 UTC

walmart here doesnt even sell filament let alone printers :<

2018-03-26 12:51:59 UTC

but hey, why frown, local scarcity = local business

2018-03-26 12:52:06 UTC

Its fulfilled by some other company, weirdly enoigh. Its online only

2018-03-26 12:54:12 UTC

Whats the historical price on them?

2018-03-26 13:07:38 UTC

2018-03-26 13:07:45 UTC

2018-03-26 13:10:26 UTC

2018-03-26 13:10:33 UTC
