why even have them then

2018-05-18 10:15:33 UTC

@Millwood you should lube the threads and o-rings

2018-05-18 10:16:13 UTC

I didn't know you need to lube your flashlights

2018-05-18 10:16:22 UTC

lubed up o-ring will last much longer, and lubed up threads will be easier to screw/unscrew while also repelling water better

2018-05-18 10:16:23 UTC

It does make sense when I think about it though

2018-05-18 10:16:44 UTC

Yeah, especially for the rings

2018-05-18 10:16:47 UTC

if you have a better brand flashlight at home you may have noticed they came in pre-lubed

2018-05-18 10:16:48 UTC

Thanks

2018-05-18 10:17:10 UTC

I never had a flashlight for more than $5 so I had no idea

2018-05-18 10:17:18 UTC

Gonna get some chink lights now

2018-05-18 10:17:45 UTC

I remember I once even got a little card with a light

2018-05-18 10:17:58 UTC

that went something like "Dear please lube threads and o-ring"

2018-05-18 10:18:03 UTC

Explain how you lube a flashlight pls

2018-05-18 10:18:10 UTC

The only time I would do that is to squat on it

2018-05-18 10:19:31 UTC

Something I was wondering, does constant on consume more power than flashing mode?

2018-05-18 10:20:48 UTC

I guess that mostly depends on the light

2018-05-18 10:21:12 UTC

the laws of physics would suggest it does, yes

2018-05-18 10:21:26 UTC

unless your light is throttling because of constant on

2018-05-18 10:21:43 UTC

for example my Emisar D4 when in strobe mode is at like 50% ish brightness

2018-05-18 10:21:56 UTC

does the duty cycle of the flash happen to be 50%

2018-05-18 10:22:07 UTC

now you're losing me

2018-05-18 10:22:19 UTC

speak like you're talking to a retard

2018-05-18 10:22:22 UTC

duty cycle = how much % of the time it's on

2018-05-18 10:22:46 UTC

uhhhhhhhhhhhhh

2018-05-18 10:22:49 UTC

good question

2018-05-18 10:23:01 UTC

batteries are charging I'd have to check later

2018-05-18 10:23:15 UTC

That is a lot of fucking around for something you're probably gonna chuck out for an upgrade

2018-05-18 10:37:59 UTC

@Krieger The Viking Plague Doctor why would you throw away a good flashlight

2018-05-18 10:38:52 UTC

@Cole Cole do you have a recommendation for a flashlight to mount on a bike? I didn't decide yet

2018-05-18 10:39:20 UTC

hmm

2018-05-18 10:39:35 UTC

BLF A6 comes with a bunch of useful bike strobe modes

2018-05-18 10:39:56 UTC

one of the modes would be ideal for bikes imo:

2018-05-18 10:40:08 UTC

light is on, but every other second or so, it pulsates in a higher brightness

2018-05-18 10:40:27 UTC
2018-05-18 10:40:32 UTC

mode is literally called bike flasher heh

2018-05-18 10:41:01 UTC

should I attempt to demonstrate? @Millwood

2018-05-18 10:55:27 UTC

idk I'm kinda like

2018-05-18 10:55:38 UTC

If I ain't using it because I upgraded it I'll get rid of it

2018-05-18 10:55:57 UTC

I'm not the type who will save every phone he owned type guy
