@Phatique thanks for info

2018-06-05 12:54:10 UTC

That's not how optimus works <:thenk:329322130804047872>

2018-06-05 12:55:34 UTC

The moment you start a heavy load (for example a vr game) it will fire up the GPU
There is not a single problem with the technology if you are running the official drivers for it
Even if you run it on linux the GPU will just stay on all the time

2018-06-05 12:55:55 UTC

@Goz3rr huohh they wont listen

2018-06-05 12:56:40 UTC

ye but for VR you need to have the port connecteds traight to the gpu for some reason

2018-06-05 12:56:44 UTC

won't work without it

2018-06-05 12:56:52 UTC

for anything else yea it's fine

2018-06-05 12:56:56 UTC

That's why there is an option in the driver itself to optimize it for vr

2018-06-05 12:57:15 UTC

But again you need to run the actual control panel to access it

2018-06-05 12:59:41 UTC

Older nvidia cards without the technology wont work but they kept the setting grayed out in the panel <:alismirk:230784726615588865>

Really ironic statement transience

2018-06-05 13:04:24 UTC

I don't see the point in being loyalist to any OS, brand or whatever

2018-06-05 13:05:02 UTC

I am not being a loyalist, I only explain that a certain feature to newer nvidia gpu's work like intended on systems meant to run in a way

2018-06-05 13:05:07 UTC

Since when was nvidia driver manager considered useful
