but I discovered that it sucked so much it wasnt worth it

2018-08-13 09:46:15 UTC

yeah dont get yeelights

2018-08-13 09:46:16 UTC

just watched a video on youtube and saw how trash it was

2018-08-13 09:46:28 UTC

or any other RBG lights for general illumination

2018-08-13 09:46:39 UTC

actually

2018-08-13 09:46:52 UTC

I got a cheap a bit over low-end model from China from another brand

2018-08-13 09:46:52 UTC

it will only make your eyes and head hurt due low HZ

2018-08-13 09:47:14 UTC

Dont know about this, but I use it to have it run on very low illumination

2018-08-13 09:47:23 UTC

since it will save the setting it is on even if power is off

2018-08-13 09:50:28 UTC

@bentech there is/was some seller on ali what had genuine dotstar leds for darn cheap

2018-08-13 09:50:51 UTC

if you want some moving color/music stuff those are pretty much way to go

2018-08-13 09:51:05 UTC

i just want general lighting lol

2018-08-13 09:51:13 UTC

as their higher pvm and transition HZ does not give you eyecancer and headache

2018-08-13 09:51:36 UTC

well dont get general lighting

2018-08-13 09:51:50 UTC

just use it as a night lamp so its very low light.

2018-08-13 09:52:03 UTC

Id recommend you to get like an IKEA bulb for 2 euros

2018-08-13 09:52:14 UTC

that's perfect for general lighting

2018-08-13 09:53:31 UTC

@bentech if you have IKEA nearby go get their 980/1000 lumen one

2018-08-13 09:55:09 UTC

or order identical 15w ones from china (high cri)

2018-08-13 09:55:45 UTC

those RGB lights quite poor for general illumination

2018-08-13 09:56:26 UTC

iirc at least Ming&shen/ben whatever maker had decent 15w ones

2018-08-13 09:56:34 UTC

i have 1 of those in living room

2018-08-13 09:57:26 UTC

iirc the one i have is not high-cri more like 80 iirc

2018-08-13 09:57:31 UTC

but you cant get everything :P

2018-08-13 09:59:12 UTC

but i know there is some sellers who use epistar high-cri (90+) leds on their lamps on aliex

2018-08-13 09:59:49 UTC

dunno if they have 1000 lumen ones or just the normal around 500 ones (~5-6w)

2018-08-13 10:01:20 UTC

the 500 is the generic, office/work/study light

2018-08-13 10:01:28 UTC

yeah i'd want 500ish

2018-08-13 10:01:38 UTC

ill have a look around ali

2018-08-13 10:02:25 UTC

yeah those look nice

2018-08-13 10:02:43 UTC

6 piece pack for 10 euros is decent deal on cri90s

2018-08-13 10:04:57 UTC

lel single corepro what i have in my study/work room costs 12 euros apparently

2018-08-13 10:05:15 UTC

so getting 6 pack of highcris is dearn good deal :D

2018-08-13 10:06:39 UTC

note to self next time order some from china instead

2018-08-13 10:07:40 UTC

suprirsing how cheap the normal non high cri ones are

2018-08-13 10:08:02 UTC

yeah its just philips/others asking extra from buildquality etc

2018-08-13 10:09:09 UTC

i have 20w philips corepro on my roof what illuminates whole room darn well for drawing and other uses (its quite blinding at mornigns :P) 80-90 cri what was good enough

2018-08-13 10:09:15 UTC

2500 lumens on that one

2018-08-13 10:09:44 UTC

i hate bad lumen lighting with passion

2018-08-13 10:10:14 UTC

anything "warm white" or sub 500 lumens is on shitlist :P
