why do people like braided cables so much

every braided earbud cable I've had has fucked up faster than just normal cables

All the plastic/rubber cables I've had have eventually split, usually at the end of the "strain relief" (which often does fuck all)

I've never fucked up any of my cables lmao

but I just like the braided ones

Poundland used to do a micro USB cable that actually had decent strain relief, but everything else about the cable was shit as you'd imagine
