@Exquisite Corpse If streaming is your main reason for a laptop, you should go for something with a better processor. More cores, and more threads, so you wanna look for like an i7, or an AMD ryzen series. 8gb of ram will be fine and if it comes down to it you can skimp on a hard drive a little bit since you're not saving anything.

As far as heating goes, that's mostly up to maintenance. Laptops are kinda built to overheat so you wanna look at the case and see that it's got some decent looking ventilation. Once a month you should spray air into it to clear out the dust out, while that's not ideal you can't open up the laptop and get all the guts out usually without voiding a warranty, or if you don't give a fuck about that you can do it anyways and try your hand at that.

You can get one of those external fan things that the laptop sits on that's like a lap desk too, and even if those fans are shitty, that's better than having it rest on like a bed or a blanket and get clogged with dust and fabric and shit.

So as far as selection goes, you should prioritize:
CPU/processor quality
Presence of fans on the case
RAM
HDD

And stay within whatever price range you wanna set.

Also if you cave and buy AMD I'm gonna make fun of you for it and I'm gonna rope Laure into making fun of you for it too.
