Some interesting parts from the Polish version of the article that the English one lacks:
```Experiment lasted for 1~~4~~588 days; it was later divided in 4 phases
"Adaptation phase" - lasted till the day 104, when the first mice of the new generation were born. It was the shortest phase of the experiment. During this phase mice have divided the territory and started setting up the first nests
"Rapid development phase" - days 105 to 314. Population of mice would double every 55 days. Dominating individuals, whose social status is higher, would have more numerous offspring than the weaker specimen. It could be noticed, that mice are more eager than in the first phase to spend time with other, alien mice
"Stagnation phase" - days 315 to 559. On the beginning of this phase, the population of mice numered 620 and would double every 145 days. Male mice start to lose their ability to protect their territory, while females become more aggressive and slowly lose their maternal instincts, even to the point where they reject their offspring after the birth. Homosexual behaviour is getting more common, especially among males in which case dominating males use the weaker ones. in this phase the population of mice peaked at 2200. Only fifth of the boxes for mice was permanently inhabited
"Extinction phase" - days 560 when the birthrate became negative to 1588 when the last mouse died. Females would get pregnant less and less often and in the final stage of the experiment the population lost its ability to reproduce altogether. On the day 600 the last birth was documented and on the day 920 the last sexual intercourse between two mice was registered. It was the longest stage of the experiment. The absolute decline of social behaviours like defending their territory and offspring was observed. All of mice behaviour was centred on fulfilling their biological needs and taking care of their appearance```
Fug, forgot that formatting doesn't work if I put it in quotes ay
2019-09-13 03:09:14 UTC
did this account for inbreeding?
2019-09-13 03:09:49 UTC
sounds like it started with a really low population
2019-09-14 15:11:01 UTC
The population was low, but high and diverse enough to prevent inbreeding depression I think
2019-09-15 01:40:34 UTC
@laurefinwë interesting. I wonder why they excluded that from the English version...
2019-09-15 05:42:24 UTC
There was also interesting Conclusion part in the Polish one, but was too tired to translate it
Shocking nobody.
2019-09-16 15:39:17 UTC
Wouldn't crystal be much cheaper
2019-09-16 15:41:42 UTC
Probably. Crystal has a longer half life though.
2019-09-16 15:42:05 UTC
Even better
