2019-12-27 17:20:40 UTC

Can I ask my dumb nigga question of the day

2019-12-27 17:21:09 UTC

Why does tea get stronger wen u steep it doe

2019-12-27 17:21:59 UTC

More active ingredient is absorbed into the hot water.

2019-12-27 17:21:59 UTC

Is it the action of submerging it over and over again to soak the plant matter ? Cause I thought the initila dunk would do it

2019-12-27 17:22:23 UTC

Wouldn't further dunking offer diminishing returns ?

2019-12-27 17:22:43 UTC

Heat from the hot water particles pushes active tea ingredients into the liquid solution.

2019-12-27 17:22:53 UTC

More time spent there = stronger solution.

2019-12-27 17:23:07 UTC

Also more heat = stronger solution, afaik anyways.

2019-12-27 17:24:15 UTC

That's why I think grounds are more efficient than tea leaves. Again, at least to my knowledge.

2019-12-27 17:24:38 UTC

Fine grind = more modularity = easier for hot water to extract solution from.

2019-12-27 17:24:56 UTC

If I understand correctly anyways. I've never been a strong chemist.

2019-12-27 17:27:23 UTC

Nah you're probably right

2019-12-27 17:27:52 UTC

That's why all the extraction teks tell you to grind your plant matter into as fine particles as possible first

2019-12-27 17:30:59 UTC

I thjnk it becomes bit more solid after a while from getting wet and staying like that without any movement. And because of that the tea leaves in the middle aren't able to give the flavor. When shaken (steeped) the particles move giving space for the flavor town

2019-12-27 17:32:30 UTC

Neat

2019-12-27 17:33:00 UTC
