yeah, that was the idea

2019-02-17 15:56:33 UTC

im kind of afraid that the current backlash against frivolous prescription of opioids, which is absolutely justified, will lead to opioids also being withheld when they are necessary

2019-02-17 15:57:58 UTC

Is it partly just that ppl avoid pain too much today?

2019-02-17 15:58:13 UTC

perhaps

2019-02-17 15:58:23 UTC

Those should be used for extreme cases, and to a fair degree they are, but I also think had the pharmaceutical industry not become what it has (profiting from keeping people sick, rather than curing them) then we could combine natural herbs with advancing knowledge in medicine to keep from creating harmful substances.

2019-02-17 15:58:27 UTC

You all talking about floride or what?

2019-02-17 15:58:44 UTC

the very purpose of pain is to tell the body 'oi m8, something's amiss here, you better patch that up asap', so i dont think you can hold it against people that they dont like it

2019-02-17 15:59:10 UTC

but as a society, the western world has definitely developed an unhealthy ideal of pain avoidance

2019-02-17 15:59:50 UTC

Here you go. Fluoride 😋

2019-02-17 15:59:53 UTC

what do you recommend as an alternative for toothpaste, by the way?

2019-02-17 16:00:12 UTC

It's way too little fluride in the water

2019-02-17 16:00:18 UTC

To do anything

2019-02-17 16:00:24 UTC

Not true

2019-02-17 16:00:36 UTC

I thought i heard that somewhere

2019-02-17 16:00:38 UTC

Fluorosis is a thing for that very reason

2019-02-17 16:00:47 UTC

Too much fluoride

2019-02-17 16:00:49 UTC

eating bones and hard bread.

2019-02-17 16:00:57 UTC

Topic is changed

2019-02-17 16:04:29 UTC

no

2019-02-17 16:04:37 UTC

it's just another way to tax the working class

2019-02-17 16:04:37 UTC

No

2019-02-17 16:04:45 UTC

alright, im just going to say the following: a 'communist government' is a contradictio in terminis

2019-02-17 16:04:45 UTC

It's real

2019-02-17 16:04:49 UTC

climate change is real, but a carbon tax is not the solution.

2019-02-17 16:04:52 UTC

Too much evidence

2019-02-17 16:05:05 UTC

communism as it was proposed by Marx and Engels is basically anarchism with a collectivist slant

2019-02-17 16:05:11 UTC

Climate change is real. Air pollution is real. But taxing aint it chief

2019-02-17 16:05:25 UTC

^

2019-02-17 16:05:27 UTC

If you appeal to authority then you'll believe climate change is man made.

2019-02-17 16:05:44 UTC

Climate change has a large backing because of funding

2019-02-17 16:06:07 UTC

That said, 72% of pollution is caused by corporations

2019-02-17 16:06:15 UTC
2019-02-17 16:06:38 UTC

@Stryker that is a kind of misleading statistic, though
