I mean think about what you'd use 4 panels for? 4 mag pouches? Or like 2 mag pouches, 1 panel for IFAK, 1 panel for GP

3 mags, 1 for ifak or gp

The webbing on the TYR is on the belt so it's a lot more stable

panels "can" slide around since it's only velcro on the sides of the panel keeping in place

well if you go without panels make sure the pouches you get can direct mount to the belt
