Yeah of course, because they have some allies, but their allies should atleast act morally responsible and tell them to stop commiting warcrimes and breaking human rights conventions.

Its job is not to force countries to be more humanitarian by declarations.

Granted there is a part of the UN charter that requires it to intervene if a genocide is occurring. Hence why the security council has always vetoed any genocides after WW2 as such.

But why do the conventions exist if people arent going to stand by them?

Well, the north american settlers were also attacked by the indians before their forceful removal from their lands, it doesnt make it any less immoral.

No large scale conflicts just small regional conflicts that are barely more than skirmishes

So id say from a war perspective the UN is working. No large conflicts

I know the history of israel and palestine, but again, if someone suddenly comes into your house and occupies your room, like the european settlers in america did, then of course they will attack, you would also remove any stranger from your house. And dont tell me its because "they had the land before" well the native north americans also had the land before, maybe they should be granted the US back then?

...and in any case - the Germans saved us from communism. Can't know if UN really caused anything for better for can't know alternatives
