Tbf that was a pretty high level shitpost
I watched the Gun Jesus video on the Mk23 and I get why you guys talked it up as a quiet pistol. Also, 96 hours in a vibrating salt water/sand environment? Sweet fucking Christ that's impressive.
Yeah germas are madmen
the mk23 is insanely cool for a lot of reasons
Besides the lockable slide, durability, and good suppressor comparability, what else?
looks
it's so fuckhueg
with the LAM it's like peak 90s socom aesthetic
I've always heard that German engineering is crazy good, but that it has a tendency to be overly complex (even if it doesn't hurt reliability) and very propriety in terms of design and maintenance. Does that hold true for their guns?
not necessarily
most of the time design is dictated by economic or speed requirements
Tbh a lot of what I've heard is about their cars. Like that they use lots of different, wierd fasteners, and put basic maintenance items in retarded places.
They're still decent cars, but a bitch if you need to work on it.
heckle my cock is definitely overpriced
Definitly heard that. Is the quality and design not worth the premium?
Guns it's harder to fall into the same trap that the Germans do with cars because there isn't a ton of shit to overcomplicate, unless you talking about meme shit like the g11
I mean that's subjective @Red Korvo
most of the time simplicity = reliability so the germans can't sperg out as much
most of it is manufacturing quality autism
Yeah
I mean they still do silly shit like laser welding mag seams lmao
But yeah mostly on the mfg side
The g11 is exactly what I'm talking about. Thats the clockwork military rifle with the stick mags in the front end right?
Gotcha.
Yes
Too much Coke in the engineers brains
Hk gang
It was the 80s
Hk sucks gang
Like I think you could make the argument that the 416 is like too complicated and expensive n shit
But it was designed to do some very specific things normie ars don't do
Shooting while full of water without grenading being a big one
As long as you don't need a bunch of proprietary or oddball tools to work on it and the gun doesn't require a mechanical engineering degree to comprehend, it's fine. QA autism is welcome in some cases imo.
Na I mean no German gun I've fucked with was too autistic
Cept maybe some weird Walther shit
Needing a screwdriver thing to get the slide of is gay as fuck
Is the main difference with the 416 that it's piston driven?
Yeah
And pistons don't get full of water and detonate the gun
Also generally overgassed as shit
