There are benefits for small arms, like less moving parts, underwater operation, a trigger that can be designed without the rest of the gun in mind, and possibly more stable ammunition, and variable firing rates for automatic fire. Oh, and it's easier for civilians to uh.... show NFA laws regarding automatic weapons the respect the deserve?

2019-09-28 00:21:10 UTC

Why tf would you fire a gun underwater? Thats a waste

2019-09-28 00:21:30 UTC

Real frogman hours.

2019-09-28 00:21:58 UTC

They get out of the water before they do that or use a harpoon gun

2019-09-28 00:25:21 UTC

But what if the commies are in the water with you?

2019-09-28 00:26:09 UTC

A harpoon gun

2019-09-28 01:02:48 UTC

I mean it IS gear

2019-09-28 01:06:02 UTC

gear for fighting fires, gear for firefights, what's the difference?

2019-09-28 01:07:31 UTC

one is for fighting for isreal, the other you shoot at people

2019-09-28 01:08:14 UTC

you don't shoot underwater

2019-09-28 01:11:51 UTC

you need special ammo

2019-09-28 01:12:01 UTC

and even then it's almost useless

2019-09-28 01:12:12 UTC

Implying i dont plan to unleash the breath of the dragon on day one

2019-09-28 01:12:42 UTC

you're better off stabbing them

2019-09-28 01:12:53 UTC

2019-09-28 01:13:38 UTC

Top kek

2019-09-28 01:24:16 UTC

Firefighting gear is gear tbh

2019-09-28 01:32:01 UTC

Nope

2019-09-28 01:32:08 UTC

@Cataclysmo i wouldn't worry much about an emp taking out an electronic rifle. I would go with a really simple battery, transistor, and spark contactor system. A PTC fuse should protect that system from an emp and reset itself before the user even realized what happened. A full on CPU managing the optics, ammo counter, barrel temp, gas port setting, lights, etc would be cool but that's far from viable in a mass produced weapon now.

2019-09-28 01:32:29 UTC

🤔

2019-09-28 01:32:37 UTC

or I can just have a manually adjustable gas port

2019-09-28 01:33:00 UTC

and digital optics are already a thing

2019-09-28 01:33:16 UTC

same with ammo counters

2019-09-28 01:36:52 UTC

Oh really? Cool. What guns use them? Do the optics adjust to the range automatically?

2019-09-28 01:37:00 UTC

🤔

2019-09-28 01:37:23 UTC

they're peripherals

2019-09-28 01:37:30 UTC

Iv only seen the ammo counter for glocks

2019-09-28 01:38:42 UTC

🤔 how did you even get in here, you know nothing of the firearms industry or how they even work
