are there mormon secrets

2019-10-02 22:23:20 UTC

@Sauerkraut srs how nosy are mormans towards other mormans

2019-10-02 22:23:21 UTC

I'm not a mason, but all Mormon priesthood rituals are mason

2019-10-02 22:23:40 UTC

Homie dated a mormon girl in hs n noticed people from her church would follow them on dates

2019-10-02 22:24:04 UTC

just cut out the middleman and be a freemason

2019-10-02 22:24:06 UTC

@Festive very. But it's from a place of concern. Your bishop asks very personal questions to make sure you are doing the right thing.

2019-10-02 22:24:27 UTC

@Sauerkraut did it ever feel culty for lack of a better word

2019-10-02 22:24:35 UTC

will god hate you if you don't wear your holy underwear

2019-10-02 22:24:44 UTC

Yeah. Chaperones. Common Christian courtship practices.

2019-10-02 22:24:59 UTC

I used to operate a camera at a local baptist youth church n shit was weird

2019-10-02 22:25:07 UTC

baptists arent that weird at all

2019-10-02 22:25:20 UTC

Na just like this specific church was weird

2019-10-02 22:25:24 UTC

@Festive yes. Very. But it comes with the territory of having an engaged fellowship.

2019-10-02 22:25:43 UTC

>Common Christian practices
I don't think that's as common as you think it is

2019-10-02 22:26:01 UTC

@uzidead christians arent as common as you think they are

2019-10-02 22:26:14 UTC

lots of lukewarm followers in name only, though

2019-10-02 22:26:18 UTC

very true

2019-10-02 22:26:20 UTC

@uzidead the magic underwear is basically a wife beater and white boxers. Mostly used by missionaries and church elders. It's similar to modesty requirements for women in other religions.

2019-10-02 22:26:29 UTC

@Sauerkraut admit it mormonism is a cult

2019-10-02 22:26:36 UTC

Yes. Kind of.

2019-10-02 22:26:37 UTC

*so what happens if you don't wear it*

2019-10-02 22:26:40 UTC

Not necessarily bad cult

2019-10-02 22:26:42 UTC

But cult

2019-10-02 22:26:58 UTC

Nothing it's a choice. I have never worn it. My dad does when he goes to the temple though.

2019-10-02 22:27:31 UTC

if you wanna equate ritualism to cultlike behavior then go for it but you're a smoothbrain

2019-10-02 22:27:52 UTC

@glacial pace I'm well aware of "cafeteria Catholics/Christians", having gone to Catholic school K through 12

2019-10-02 22:27:58 UTC

you should go to liturgy sometime

2019-10-02 22:28:04 UTC

Cult is a weird word because it usually hinges on what the government thinks of your church. It's a dangerous road to start throwing the word around. It's a relatively old chirstian sect. But they are very private and very religious.

2019-10-02 22:28:46 UTC

@glacial pace not the ritualism but it being expected to have everyone in your business all the time give me cult vibes

2019-10-02 22:29:02 UTC

They aren't in your business, but they check up on you.

2019-10-02 22:29:08 UTC

Also not unlike jews its pretty taboo to daye outside of the church from what i understand

2019-10-02 22:29:11 UTC

They are regular church lady nosey.

2019-10-02 22:29:30 UTC

@glacial pace if that was directed at me then I'll have to pass

2019-10-02 22:30:07 UTC

do it once it wont hurt you

2019-10-02 22:30:12 UTC

But.. when I got into a car crash two church elders found out and lifted me into my house when I couldn't walk. Then litterally 15-20 different women brought me casseroles in case I couldn't cook.

2019-10-02 22:30:15 UTC

@Sauerkraut its more likely that my friends experience was because of how shitty that specific church was and less likely that spying on members dates is the norm

2019-10-02 22:31:07 UTC

Like they were tailing hard i remmember him runnin redlights n shit n theyd just keep on followin

2019-10-02 22:31:16 UTC

@Festive so out west the churches are more extreme and religious. They can be over bearing and nosey. It like all faiths depends on where you are.

2019-10-02 22:31:22 UTC

@glacial pace I mean I was raised Catholic and used to go to Mass every week, but at this point faith and religion just don't mean much of anything to me anymore

2019-10-02 22:31:23 UTC

>Then litterally 15-20 different women brought me casseroles in case I couldn't cook.
wtf joining lds rn???

2019-10-02 22:31:33 UTC

the church family i grew up around is methodist (steven ministry) and we'd do similar things within the community, but my hometown is also surrounded by water on all sides, so
