I want to get an ifak since I'm getting my first gun. Just seems like the responsible thing to do. What should I look for in an ifak and a pouch for it?

Take a bleed control class and then fill it out based on that

the G2 SIRK is a mil spec proper kit full of medical supplies (though you want more than is just in it in your pack)

its not an actual pouch to carry gear

Get a Molle compatible first aid/IFAK pouch, they’re everywhere

Slap that on even your normal day belt by running your belt through the Molle if you have to

The SIRK is the supplies, it’s a refill kit of all the good stuff you’ll need in case this isn’t just a booboo you’re treating

Now if you want to be able to properly use the supplies, take an EMT class if it’s possible e

Realistically, take a local ‘control the bleed’ course

Give a brief google search of what each part of the SIRK does and at least know it’s purpose even if you can’t properly use it

Please don't stick the needle in someone's chest
