Just get a solid color goretex
goretex is super dosh heavy though wherever I look
its also actually waterproof
surplus goretex
civilian goretex
Okay poorfag
I gotta find a better surplus store because all the ones I find are just airshit stores with a lil corner of "real steel gun totin be a soldier in under thirty bucks"
ebay
its not that I can't afford it, if I needed to I could get it but i would rather
A. not spend that much
and B. not fall for a meme
im trying to be responsible lmao
ive got bill to pay and mouth to feed but I also want better outdoor kit
Yeah a rainjacket is a bad investment
Clearly you live in the desert
I have a nice rainjacket because I live on the coast and it rains every day I just wouldn't take it innawoods
why
because its not super durable, its very waterproof but its thin and I'd need a layer under it regardless to keep warm
I mean you'd layer the same with goretex
but ok
You CAN waterproof gortex
But it’s not advisable
so if I could get a nice rain jacket and pantaloon combo thats also warm enough to handle about 0 degrees that would be great. unless this is wishful thinking
If you’re trying to waterproof it you’re kinda defeating its original purpose
goretex is waterproof dumbass
GORKA
FUck
Wow excuse me
<@&558119990725705748>
This is peak blue name
Better to be thin and layer under than have something that's too hot
usmc gortexes never felt waterproof
Apologies it’s been a long day or gender studies indoctrination
do they lose their rating if old?
im sure it would degrade
they're probably p worn
also tbh if you're not actively walking through brush, just wear your civilian jacket
🤷🏿
I dont want to be limited to avoiding brush though
the purpose would be multiday backpacking/camping trips deep in the sticks
gortex could do you well
im sure there is a better product for you tho, something in flat color
i'd prefer flat colour because I don't like the look of most camo's and im not retarded enough to go camping in full camo for the street cred
