I don't get it. It's not even hard to fix. Airtight barriers and strong vacuum pumps are simple concepts. As are dust masks. But these fuckers wanted us to take the filters for the vacuum pumps out and blow them out with compressed air right there by the machines. Some filters have dried solder flux. Some have laser cutter dust (we cut thin pieces of every day and exotic metals; I'm sure their oxides are perfectly healthy, lol). The people who use soldering irons all day don't have fumes extractors. I wonder how many of us will get cancer. I wear a carbon surgeon's mask every day and it gets maybe 80% of the air but idk if the carbon gets any of this stuff.

OSHA has anonymous reporting if you think it's anything that's actually unsafe

2019-11-08 11:32:36 UTC

@Red Korvo in regards to your feet, if the running store employee didn't completely fuck up then you could have plantar fasciitis

2019-11-08 11:34:15 UTC

Also custom insoles are a god send. I have high arches and narrow feet that pronate so custom insoles are a must for me

2019-11-08 11:34:26 UTC

Different brands of running shoes seem to fit people differently too

2019-11-08 11:35:14 UTC

I can basically only wear NB, but I run with dudes that can only wear Brooks or Nike, etc

2019-11-08 11:35:25 UTC

Yeah, Brooks have been good to me, I've found that new balance runs wide. Theres a bunch of nuances to running shoes

2019-11-08 11:36:03 UTC

Spikes are a whole other animal, fuck those things

2019-11-08 11:37:28 UTC

I rarely run on a track, so I don’t have to worry about them

2019-11-08 11:38:31 UTC

Cross country spikes exist

2019-11-08 11:39:30 UTC

Like sure it feels fucking cool to run that fast but god damn does it fuck my ankles up

2019-11-08 13:05:43 UTC

Then I have a follow question. Am I stupid for trying to avoid molle? All im missing on my belt is a dump pouch and maybe one other item, but havent decided

2019-11-08 13:06:06 UTC

And have done it all with 0 molle

2019-11-08 13:21:28 UTC

Molle attachment is more secure in most cases than belt slides or whatever

2019-11-08 13:21:39 UTC

I used to work 12s. You get used to it. Sit down at any chance you can.

2019-11-08 13:22:06 UTC

It’s not something I would avoid, but it’s not mandatory to use it

2019-11-08 13:22:27 UTC

There are dump pouches with Velcro attachment

2019-11-08 13:23:11 UTC

And as for workplace hazards: The ceiling is brown with old evaporated coolant that's only four years old. I wonder what the inside of the old timers who've been here for 30 years' lungs look like.

2019-11-08 13:23:18 UTC

Guys at 2 gun matches I go to just put them on their edc belts

2019-11-08 13:37:09 UTC

12s are gay as AIDS though. Those last 2 hours crawl. 10s are where it’s at

2019-11-08 13:37:41 UTC

HSGI MAG-NET Belt Mounted Dump Pouch (NOT MOLLE COMPATIBLE) (OD Green) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014LP60CQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Z9wXDb0NWC6WZ

2019-11-08 13:37:54 UTC

I have one of these. Non molle

2019-11-08 13:37:58 UTC

No company that matters (IE has more than one shift) works tens.

2019-11-08 13:38:25 UTC

I liked 12s because I didn't have to be there more than three days in a row.

2019-11-08 13:38:56 UTC

Now I'm back and eights and working six straight days a week is ass.

2019-11-08 13:39:27 UTC

I'm working 6 on 6 off for the next two weeks with no days off

2019-11-08 13:39:56 UTC

Holiday crunch, or...?

2019-11-08 13:40:09 UTC

What do you do?

2019-11-08 13:40:11 UTC

Merchant Mariner

2019-11-08 13:40:22 UTC

Ah.

2019-11-08 13:40:22 UTC

This is life on boat

2019-11-08 13:40:36 UTC

Paid a daily rate

2019-11-08 13:40:40 UTC

At least you have no living expensese to deal with while onnaboat

2019-11-08 13:41:06 UTC

@Dithon1 yes, true. Other than my stay at home wife and baby

2019-11-08 13:41:15 UTC

I almost want to go contractor instead of perma because they get paid a shitload more, free housing, and per diem.

2019-11-08 13:41:18 UTC

But she doesn't spend much

2019-11-08 13:41:33 UTC

Downside they have to work a minimum of 60 hours a week and they all live inna shitty hotel.

2019-11-08 13:42:16 UTC

And can be dropped at a moment's notice. No bennies, etc.

2019-11-08 13:42:22 UTC

That sounds bad

2019-11-08 13:42:31 UTC

Well, not at a moment's notice. They have to honor the contract.

2019-11-08 13:42:52 UTC

@solidcolorgang get a fanny SACK mk2 and wear it under your belt
