I don't even own crocks but I'm talking myself into it.
I've had them for probably 2 or 3 years. I never realized how bad it was till I started spending 12 hour days in them.
More important issue is, when I get new shoes, how do I know they'll work if I only have 5 minutes to walk around in the store and I can't judge them by minor issues because they'll be very different once broken in?
Bro, 12 hour days are going to suck on your feet even if you're wearing pillows full of feathers pulled from God's favorite goose.
Have you tried aftermarket insoles?
No. Should I?
maybe?
buy some good ones
what socks are you using?
Am I just going to have to deal with this shit (and the long term tissue damage likely to come with it)?
like cotton ones?
Just some regular ankle high ones.
Nothing special.
regular cotton socks?
get thin woolsocks
Idk, probably not.
helps a ton with the friction
Friction is fine. I never notice it.
The pain is completely in the pad of my foot.
I'm assuming I'll do some type of nerve or connective tissue damage eventually. Is there really no kind of boot that won't be painful after 12 hours?
That would be worth it. Who does them?
me
Excelent.
Post feet and he'll send you custom soles
Sounds legit as fuck.
So. We have a laser cutter here. It has exhaust pipes. Presumably because we don't want to breath the burned material. The dust has a very distinct look when clumped together. Just wiped some dust off of a nearby wall for shits and giggles. MFW the dust clumped on my finger looks like laser dust and not like a dust bunny.
I am living in chinaman hell.
I worked in a fabrication shop for almost a year. I breathed so much shit. I don't even want to think about it.
I don't get it. It's not even hard to fix. Airtight barriers and strong vacuum pumps are simple concepts. As are dust masks. But these fuckers wanted us to take the filters for the vacuum pumps out and blow them out with compressed air right there by the machines. Some filters have dried solder flux. Some have laser cutter dust (we cut thin pieces of every day and exotic metals; I'm sure their oxides are perfectly healthy, lol). The people who use soldering irons all day don't have fumes extractors. I wonder how many of us will get cancer. I wear a carbon surgeon's mask every day and it gets maybe 80% of the air but idk if the carbon gets any of this stuff.
OSHA has anonymous reporting if you think it's anything that's actually unsafe
@Red Korvo in regards to your feet, if the running store employee didn't completely fuck up then you could have plantar fasciitis
Also custom insoles are a god send. I have high arches and narrow feet that pronate so custom insoles are a must for me
Different brands of running shoes seem to fit people differently too
I can basically only wear NB, but I run with dudes that can only wear Brooks or Nike, etc
Yeah, Brooks have been good to me, I've found that new balance runs wide. Theres a bunch of nuances to running shoes
Spikes are a whole other animal, fuck those things
I rarely run on a track, so I don’t have to worry about them
Cross country spikes exist
Like sure it feels fucking cool to run that fast but god damn does it fuck my ankles up
