his l3 anvis tube has like zero noise in pure darkness
Digital NODs ontop of a HUD and thermals
yeh. Plate wasn't even visible to me without using the illuminator
Literally what the army is going for
yeah, and using a similar WP tube we had I couldnt see him but he could see me kinda deal
We've been saying IVAS for the whole conversation
Are you fucking retarded?
It's basically a program for a google glass type headset for HUD/augmented reality, with integrated day/night optics @CDRCC
First article I saw on it only mentioned digital thermal? Is NVG in as well, just not mentioned?
damn, is the l3 anvis tube really that powerful?
Currently it's just a big VR headset for training, and yes
we're on stp 1
I mean, that's a fair point I guess. The price point for a headset with those kinds of capabilities would be 20k+ though, and absolutely not available for civ market for next 10-20 years
me on the left
its pretty powerful yeah.
Yeah, that's my point, is that digital development is already at a fixed rate due to mil spending and demand
Yeah and any company worth anything won't waste their time with the civilian market until the military is good to go, which will take 10-20 years
So people buying 100k worth of auroras means nothing to the billions that they're getting from the army
Well, the Aurora isn't looking for that kind of market - it's one of the first "viable" DNVG's oriented to the civ market IMO
Its not viable at all
and 100K is a rather low estimate IMO, that's 200 units only
not really, 100k is like 100 units + the cost of delivering the product
you'd probably get better reception and development from directly funding a aliexpress dealer than buying the auroras and waiting for R&D from them
doesnt the aurora have a 4 second delay lmao
is it really that bad
it's like 1~
a little less
epic
Thats still shit for ground use
I need DNVG with G-sync
Turn V-sync on too
sionyx isn't even really marketing the aurora as being a nod, which is a smart move on their part
I'm basically positing that there is nothing bad that would come out of introducing poors to a cheaper option for NVG, since I'm optimistic about both DNVG and future growth in terms of number of people getting in to NVG
