It's more niche than the JPC in my opinion.

The JPC is more minimalist than the other options you listed

Tubes are nice to sure and the strandhogg is a great carrier. You can load it down quite a lot. AVS is a comfortable mid to heavy weight carrier, but is more of a jackofall master of none imo. Scarab is a meh from me. It's a quality carrier, but doesn't do anything special or different compared to the others.

Does the mesh on the strandhogg fray at all?

If you’re going to load it down a lot you might not want a JPC and might be better off with a braphogg or AVS

The mesh should hold up well if it's what I think it is.
