its ok to throw gear in the washing machine if you have appropriate detergent. i chuck motorcycle leathers in there all the time with leather shampoo and they turn out great

expensive though, half a bottle of the shampoo is almost as much as dry cleaning

nikwax tech wash is the right one for cordura
