Got my stock and internal upper components. I'm waiting on my assembly tools and 80% jig, should get here in a week. I'm going to get a Faxon Gunner 16" mid length barrel and Aero gas block soon. Still haven't picked a free float hand guard yet. Might go with an A2 flash hider, but I've heard the Phantom compensator lowers the noise substantially. Thoughts?

Fair enough. I was never in a hurry though. I've spent a lot of time researching parts and I've also spread out my purchases. I initially didn't plan to bother finishing it until I move out this year, since I'll have to keep it at my uncle's until then, but now that I'm started I'm too excited and I want to finish it.

YHM Turbo K if you want something decent

Comps won't lower noise though, longer barrel will be less noisy

I'll probably just get ak2 grip. Gonna keep the A2 grip for a bit just to see how that angle and shape feels.

Flash hiders will generally be less loud than comps

The A2 grip isn't that bad, just grind off the nub if it doesn't fit your hand
