2020-01-12 21:09:35 UTC

overall, I'm going to have to rate the rules as extremely based and moderately redpilled

at the end of the day, the qtg story is a rare success story of a group of 4chan chads who had been in this discord for about 2/3 years who outgrew this place and are too good for most of the users here. They got recognized by the stars of the field after joining places like primary and secondary, and realized they could compete with the subject matter experts there because those guys had 20+ years in their fields doing military/police shit, but the qtg guys' input was either unfairly ignored or contradicted even though comparatively their knowledge was equal. So instead of playing "just another no-name" on P&S, they decided to make their own community so that they could retain top dog status, while removing the "elitism" of P&S. So now they have their own sandbox, and since theyre better than everyone else and absolutely mog those who think they either know things or might not have more experience but would challenge their overwhelming knowledge with alternate opinions or experiences, they created a system of rules that disabled any meaningless discussion since their challengers really are: a group of kids with no valid real world experiences who like to look at pictures of guns and gear online and fantasize about being their heroes one day, desperately searching for anything that could be perceived as relevant and blowing it out of proportion to puff up their status in their fake little community.

You don't have to ban reddit igloo memes, you just abuse people that use them

2020-01-12 21:20:58 UTC

The rules are gay, anything beyond the minimum to stop a server from getting shut down or it's users v& and "use the right channel" is garbage

Are IFAKs the most important piece of kit?

2020-01-12 21:28:14 UTC

Probably the most likely to get used

2020-01-12 21:28:31 UTC

how many times have you been shot

2020-01-12 21:28:32 UTC

outside of the context of larping, like if you take one of your tarded friends shooting and get shot

2020-01-12 21:28:36 UTC

I'd say a pack is more useful

2020-01-12 21:28:43 UTC

Like realistically

2020-01-12 21:28:58 UTC

None, but I do go shooting on BLM a lot

2020-01-12 21:29:14 UTC

the most important piece of kit is the ronin senshi battle belt

2020-01-12 21:29:20 UTC

in multicam black

2020-01-12 21:29:24 UTC

or tropic

2020-01-12 21:29:46 UTC

How much more worthwhile is a good backpack compared to a milsurp ruck?

2020-01-12 21:29:50 UTC

yes

2020-01-12 21:30:15 UTC

I already have a functional enough ruck that I use almost every day

2020-01-12 21:30:28 UTC

outside of backpacking I haven't hit any limits with it

2020-01-12 21:30:34 UTC

I wish it had more pouches though

2020-01-12 21:30:48 UTC

lots of pouches/organizer = lots of extra weight

2020-01-12 21:33:09 UTC

I wouldn't go too overboard on pouches on a backpack. Better to organize things into stuff sacks internally and just have pouches for rapid access stuff

2020-01-12 21:33:20 UTC

knowledge is the most important gear

2020-01-12 21:33:26 UTC

friends are the second most important gear

2020-01-12 21:33:34 UTC

truck is the third most

2020-01-12 21:33:38 UTC

maybe the real gear is the friends we made along the way

2020-01-12 21:33:41 UTC

do not @ me

2020-01-12 21:37:27 UTC

I'm picking up a BCM upper next week which is going to have me tapped out on cash for a while

2020-01-12 21:37:38 UTC

I'm set on mags for now
