Steel pipe and a hammer if you're really desperate enough.

2020-01-17 15:06:01 UTC

were talking about making ARs with hand tools

2020-01-17 15:06:10 UTC

dont change the subject

2020-01-17 15:06:51 UTC

@Trolly that's.... good to know. If only they weren't 10s of thousands of dollars. I'll bet a desktop CNC could handle a crude AR in 6061.

2020-01-17 15:07:08 UTC

I mean there are definitely people who have made AR lowers with only hand tools

2020-01-17 15:07:27 UTC

@Red Korvo stop being poor

2020-01-17 15:07:50 UTC

Fadals can run single phase too, and you can get one of them for like 6k

2020-01-17 15:08:32 UTC

If all you’re making is ARs and you’re a retard you might as well just get a ghost gunner

2020-01-17 15:09:40 UTC

I've got a 3d printer so I'm not worried about making the lower tbh. The uppers and BCGs would be tricky. Thanks to IvanTheTroll barrels are pretty doable now.

2020-01-17 15:10:42 UTC

@Trolly oh shit. They're not CNC at that price are they?

2020-01-17 15:10:55 UTC

Yes

2020-01-17 15:11:03 UTC

A real cnc mill

2020-01-17 15:12:20 UTC

But it's totally illogical for basic bitch ARs which are cheap and easy to buy complete or as 80s. Build some 240s

2020-01-17 15:13:31 UTC

I'm thinking some 240s....... and some M203s.

2020-01-17 15:14:57 UTC

Just learn to shoot a .22 correctly first

2020-01-17 15:18:05 UTC

Accuracy through volume

2020-01-17 15:18:46 UTC

No reason you can't work on both. Lots of good mechanics that aren't great drivers.

2020-01-17 15:21:09 UTC

I used to think that was me, until I got behind the wheel of a racecar

2020-01-17 15:21:34 UTC

And realized specialization is for insects

2020-01-17 15:22:13 UTC

That's why I said there's no reason you can't work on both. I think that's ideal.

Used to do top fuel drag racing n true its less about your skill and more about the size of your balls

2020-01-17 16:55:54 UTC

>drag
Sounds kinda gay fam

2020-01-17 17:50:08 UTC

For you

2020-01-17 18:28:30 UTC

i paid 60 bucks to have my upper assembled lmao no one cares that youre smart enough to use a vise

2020-01-17 18:30:36 UTC

@Red Korvo You did use a vise right?

2020-01-17 18:31:49 UTC

@Red Korvo bruh I hope you don't mean .223 / 5.56 barrels being doable

2020-01-17 18:32:08 UTC

There's not any appropriately sized hydraulic tubing that would withstand those pressures

2020-01-17 18:32:24 UTC

And all Ivan did was find a cheap and effective way to rifle already suitable sections of tubing

2020-01-17 18:33:05 UTC

Gundrilling is a massive rabbit hole that requires either very short barrels or purpose built machinery

2020-01-17 18:47:29 UTC

Bro just 3d print the barrel extension 😂

2020-01-17 19:03:15 UTC

nah itll work, im gonna cast it out of bronze

2020-01-17 19:10:04 UTC

Anything that's not a 9mm 3D gat should not have a barrel ECM'd. You have to get special tools if you plan to rifle your own barrels because you're too retarded to machine a blank.

2020-01-17 19:11:44 UTC

Clearly youre all stupid because @Red Korvo is an engineering mastermind

2020-01-17 19:14:31 UTC

I'd set my lathe up for gun drilling and rifling but green mountain barrels are dirt cheap

2020-01-17 19:21:43 UTC

didnt they get busted for having illegals make their shit?

2020-01-17 19:24:51 UTC

That's bear creek

2020-01-17 19:25:26 UTC

Green mountain is just a mid/low end barrel and blank maker

2020-01-17 19:26:54 UTC

while barrels and bcgs are so cheap its not a terrible idea to have a few extra "okay" grade ones laying around as insurance for a panic
