If anodization were something that wasn't required, you would think companies would save literally millions of dollars on the process by skipping it altogether

2020-01-24 18:51:08 UTC

If anything just spray paint your shit

2020-01-24 18:51:11 UTC

EZ PZ

2020-01-24 18:51:16 UTC

It's required by the military because their requirements are higher and they probably care about salt water exposure. Its required by the civilian market because they care about looks. Anodization is pretty cheap.

2020-01-24 18:51:18 UTC

Also looking cool is the main reason most of us are into this

2020-01-24 18:51:33 UTC

Hard coat anodizing makes parts so much stronger it's depressing that the lot charge is so high and most of the little parts I make for myself never get it

2020-01-24 18:51:59 UTC

There’s no shame in wanting shit to look cool

2020-01-24 18:52:02 UTC

Raw aluminum is pretty shitty

2020-01-24 18:52:08 UTC

Also, do you realize how fucking stupid it is to believe that an ar will blow up and kill you in the event of a lower reciever failure?

2020-01-24 18:52:22 UTC

I never said it'll kill you

2020-01-24 18:52:36 UTC

You'll just be maimed

2020-01-24 18:52:42 UTC

I have a binder full of pictures of lower receiver failures that I show to potential customers

2020-01-24 18:53:15 UTC

@All UCP Everything agreed. I also think that acting like a gun is literally broken because of a lack of paint is literally faggot tier.

2020-01-24 18:53:58 UTC

Type 3 anodizing isn't comparable to paint at all

2020-01-24 18:54:07 UTC

It doesn't serve the same purposes

2020-01-24 18:54:42 UTC

A lower reciever will not fail just because it lacks anodization. The fucking BCG and upper wear holes in their coatings and no one is worried about them expoloding.

2020-01-24 18:55:13 UTC

A BCG is steel, so there's that

2020-01-24 18:55:16 UTC

@Trolly Which makes them telling me to paint it to fix the issue even more retarded.

2020-01-24 18:55:26 UTC

Send it out for ano

2020-01-24 18:56:21 UTC

You have already shown to us how little you know about any type of science

2020-01-24 18:56:24 UTC

Steel is usually more susceptible to rust than aluminum, and the upper is aluminum! What the fuck, are you ingesting lead pills or something?

2020-01-24 18:56:26 UTC

get your shit anodized

2020-01-24 18:56:26 UTC

You're getting bullied because of your justasgood levels of cope, not because people think the lower will explode

2020-01-24 18:56:53 UTC

@Trolly go reread the last five minutes of the conversation dude.

2020-01-24 18:56:54 UTC

Unless you get some shitty BCG, you're not going to see wear

2020-01-24 18:57:02 UTC

Why, its tiresome

2020-01-24 18:57:19 UTC

@Trolly because people did say my lower would explode, fuck.

2020-01-24 18:57:21 UTC

It's either nitride coated, phosphate coated, NiB coated or something else

2020-01-24 18:58:33 UTC

I don't agree with half the shit these clowns say but if I had to follow someone's advice between yours and them it would be a no brainer

2020-01-24 18:59:06 UTC

you want the best advice there is? buy an LMT MARS

2020-01-24 18:59:28 UTC

Then how do uppers survive with holes it their coatings?

2020-01-24 19:00:07 UTC

The wear will increase after the surface is compromised

2020-01-24 19:00:35 UTC

Cause morons dont make 80s out of uppers

2020-01-24 19:00:53 UTC

An unanodized upper or buffer tube would be lunch. Galling and scoring

2020-01-24 19:01:09 UTC

@Juicy no. I'm not dropping 2k just to please some retards on a knitting forum.

2020-01-24 19:01:30 UTC

Instead you'll drop 2k just to make a properly functioning ar

2020-01-24 19:01:40 UTC

LMT MARS lowers aren’t 2k

2020-01-24 19:01:44 UTC

that too

2020-01-24 19:01:55 UTC

Imagine being stupid enough to pay 2k for a MARS lower

2020-01-24 19:01:58 UTC

I only spent like 1350 bucks on my whole LMT CQB rifle nigga

2020-01-24 19:02:36 UTC

The unanodized lower is subject to peening, galling in the magazine well, and wear in the fcg pin holes
