Public education is a fundamental need of a healthy and working democracy, just like a King in the past would be tutored to rule the country, public education must have, amongst others, the objective of forming self-realising, independent, critically thinking citizen who can deal with the responsibility of voting rights. A privatised school won't ever have that as its goal, it will have maximising profits as its goal. And that means that the schools that will better suit to meet what the parents want will be the ones to thrive. And guess what, from experiencing in the field, the majority of parents are huge pampering morons.
If your public education system doesn't work, reform it
