there are many cases in biology when closely related species look apparently different

theres a thing called convergence in biology which means that generally, its likely evolution comes up with a "similar" result but through different means

i.e. chordata(our) eyes are a completely different thing from molluscs eyes, they evolved from a different kind of tissue, they develop differently but they serve the same purpose of course
