The steiner otal is all that was around budget wise in 2015. I'm now interested in perst
Have you looked at stars yet?
Actually no I haven’t like an idiot I’ll look up at them tonight
Like, looked up into the sky at night? You can see dust clouds, shooting stars if you look long enougj
Sweet.
Me and my old crew would be hog hunting
I'd be staring up, look down and see them 100 yards ahead of me. I'd get lost in space.
Lol
Pretty impressed with it so far it’s average specs. It’ll hold me over till I get a nice set of RNVGs
Pvs14 is more than adequate for general population use. Civies usually only have gen 1 or 2 and bluebois usually have only a few gen 3s if any per dept. Having night vision makes you better equipped than most people in the country, and the world comparing to militaries that still issue gen 2. Lots of countries only give nods to a few dudes.
Instead of rnvgs, I'd rather spend that money on ammo and train with the 14
O I’m very happy with it still lol
That’s something I’ve always wanted to do was a night time hog hunt
@TacticalBeard its fun
@TacticalBeard if I get to know you better maybe we can hunt some time. I've been outta the game for a few years
Sure thing. Im up in Michigan so there around down by the Ohio border.... for now hopefully the stay down there it would be a catastrophe if they make it to the UP . but nothing like in the southern states where they are everywhere
what distributer did you get for your pvs? ive heard horror stories of people buying a used tube that seemed legit but the only American part was the tube itself the internals were all shoddy Russian parts
@somethingoriginalx tnvc always
Steele industries has gotten good reviews for blem units (discounted heavily). 1700 for blem gen 3 vs tnvc's 3000 for new
thanks man! i appreciate the help
@somethingoriginalx the unit is one of 4 things you'll want.
Helmet (the skeleton of the system)
Laser (the nerves, it's how you "touch" target)
And illuminator (one eye of two, the other being the unit itself)
@mcguyver123 yeah i was actually looking at some old hot show footage and some booth was showing pvs-14 duel mounts for a scalable system, and i know the whole boogie boy thing is to buy a knockoff airsoft helmet and mount +4k of gear on it
@somethingoriginalx shit, high cut helmets can be had for 200$ now. Surplus ach for $100. Nonreason not to go ballistic
Bump helmets make no sense outside of maritime use. Even then, modern polyethylene helmets work better as they're lightweight, float, and are ballistic
@mcguyver123 "$200 for high cut"
you were already my savior with the nvg's sight but latterly where do you find this
@somethingoriginalx hold on
$300 for a 3M
So $100 more gets you an American helmet of higher quality. But both are ballistic lids.
@mcguyver123 you are a god why is your rank not higher
I use a surplus ach with dial liner. I've considered a high cut for comms tho.
@somethingoriginalx idk. I dont mind pleb rank. I'm here to help. This is squids domain, I'm a leader elsewhere lol
Wherever and whenever that maybe
@mcguyver123 still a chad in my book lol
@somethingoriginalx I won't argue with that
@somethingoriginalx the 3m helmet is a good deal I have a Gentex high cut and a HHV. I got my PVS14 from night vision inc he has good reviews and what not from all the NVG gurus on the AR15 forums. 2400$ on his Black Friday sale for this gen 3 L3 thin filmed tube. Pretty basic specifications on my sheet but for the price and 1 tiny spec you can barely see it was a good pick up.
Steel industry sell blem/ refurbished units for good prices off there Facebook and posts pictures of them blem so you get to pick and chose.
TNVC is hands down the highest quality even if you pay more and have to wait they have very high spec tubes
@TacticalBeard and here i was thinking id have to spend $1400 on a good cap or buy that garbage ar500 steel helmet when it comes out
I mean.... I actually think the AR500 helmet is an interesting item
