Good ol chest seals. We like to slap them on people’s back

i just finished my companies first aid course a few weeks ago and am finally putting togeather a IFAK for my kit since i now actually know how to use the shit

Sucking chest wounds can lead to bigger problem

Like pneumothorax

Which obviously can lead into an even worse tension pneumothorax

Where you’d have to relieve the pressure off the collapsed lung with a NCD

the way the teacher explained it to me correct me if i am wrong here is that the chest needs the negetive pressure to have the lungs expand and if there is a hole there the air goes in the area around the lungs throught the hole in the chest

Yeah air gets in the plural space

And if enough builds up puts pressure on the lung causing it to collapse

Where a NCD would relieve the pressure in that cavity

we also do other things like Chest tubes but there something you learn later on outside of the basic school.

EMT-B aka EMT basic is the easiest cert

O2 and transport. That’s what a EMT-B does lol
