Mcarthy after two weeks of stew
I've done continuous bone broth in a crockpot
you just have to check the bones once a day, take out any that are falling apart, and add fresh vegetables
lol idk
i make broth in like 2-3 hours and its usually pretty good
chicken broth can be done in that time
Beef bones are much heavier and need to be cooked for a minimum of 12 hours to release their collagen
if im making broth i usually use jowls or hocks
I save my leftover bones from cooking pork shoulders, chicken thighs, beef roasts etc
thats actually bad ass
bring home beef neckbones, cow feet, pig and chicken feet when they go on sale
when i was a child i asked my grandfather once why he was eating the fat on the steak
fat is flavor
he said if you ever knew what it was like to be hungry youd eat the fat too
i eat the fat from the steak now
so i hella dig that you dont waste and invent ways to make use of what would have been waste
majpr props
exactly
I'm poor but I eat right
Bone broth and all kinds of stuff.
I freeze leftover broth (if I have any)
wicked cool
We save our veggie waste and cook it all down and make veggie broth.
When we cut up an onion we save the outside and the ends, carrot shavings, stuff like that.
We stick it in a bag, throw it in the freezer and then when we have enough we turn it into broth.
It tastes way better than store bought stuff.
the outsides of onions I don't do
I compost that and save it for planting
and onions are dirt cheap
Yeah, that's another good use for them.
speaking of, I really need to start planting my chili peppers
Kk I'm back, do i need to ban anybody
this year I'm doing habaneros, shishito, fatali, ghost peppers, and a new Naga Morich offshoot called Big Red Mama
what's that?
that hand looking a little swarthy
He cut his balls off so he didnt have to pee anymore
well that's where pee is stored
