2019-12-27 20:47:18 UTC

selecting what to read next was always a reward

If women arent willing to work the hours over their biological needs to be mothers or thoties

2019-12-27 20:47:36 UTC

Paperback looks like ass in a bookcase

2019-12-27 20:47:42 UTC

They deserve to not make as much as men

2019-12-27 20:47:46 UTC

Paperback books that look well used aren't so bad.

2019-12-27 20:48:10 UTC

@Grok Urgh, they are the worst

2019-12-27 20:48:14 UTC

Pfft

2019-12-27 20:48:16 UTC

well, if you take care of them, it's not so hard

2019-12-27 20:48:46 UTC

always will remember the virtually library my grandmother accumulated over the yrs

2019-12-27 20:48:47 UTC

Leatherbound hardback is the only kind of book fit for display. Anything else can be left in piles in the bathroom for toiletreading

2019-12-27 20:49:26 UTC

A well used book adds to the illusion that you read it.

2019-12-27 20:49:40 UTC

illusion?

2019-12-27 20:49:48 UTC

Specifically it, not a digital copy.

2019-12-27 20:49:51 UTC

I don't buy books I don't intend to read

2019-12-27 20:50:00 UTC

i never let myself put a book on the bookshelf if i hadn't read and finished it

2019-12-27 20:50:18 UTC

If I am given books as a gift or inheritance, they usually end up in a box somewhere unless I've bothered to read them

2019-12-27 20:50:23 UTC

even with things like the original copy of Mein Kampf and Bible

2019-12-27 20:50:25 UTC

I buy real books I've read digitally.

2019-12-27 20:50:44 UTC

that is what i do; nice to have a copy if i am on the go

2019-12-27 20:50:58 UTC

but the majority of the time i read anymore, it's technical manuals

Haven't read a book in ages though. Mostly read online articles nowadays.
But I thought I'd brush up on my book reading now that I actually got "The Prince" by Niccolo Machiavelli for Christmas

2019-12-27 20:51:12 UTC

reading to relax in the hammock requires a paperback

2019-12-27 20:51:31 UTC

it just 'feels' different

2019-12-27 20:51:40 UTC

Read hitlers tabletalk

2019-12-27 20:51:50 UTC

Watch the greatest story never told

2019-12-27 20:51:59 UTC

the orignal is EXTREMELY hard to understand

2019-12-27 20:52:03 UTC

he was a mad man

2019-12-27 20:52:09 UTC

Who?

2019-12-27 20:52:10 UTC

A chad man

2019-12-27 20:52:15 UTC

the english translation just doesn't do it justice

2019-12-27 20:52:26 UTC

Mein Kaempf - Adolf Hitler

2019-12-27 20:53:13 UTC

Well what do you expect. Hitler was a failed artist.

Now artists are usually pretty nutty as it is. Imagine being a failed one with the added anxiety and insanity to the mix.

they take alot of liberties with translating the orignal, as if pondering an extreme of an idea is what one sets out to do

2019-12-27 20:54:11 UTC

I used to be good at drawing myself. But I lost my touch and inspiration for it.

So nowadays, I too fanticize about putting annoying minorities into death camps for my own twisted amusement 😛
