NO true wisdom is domain specific
none
utility is the measure of wisdom
this is an exhausting argument
Goddammit, again were in agreement on this shit
not argument, a discussion
I'm done with the metaphysics, we're in agreement that wisdom is a combination of knowledge and experience.
knowledge is knowing a tomato is technically a fruit, wisdom is knowing a tomato does not belong in a fruit salad
there you go
that works; i still think the internet is making people's lives worse not better
and driving us towards a civil conflict in the US
cringe @matroyshka
is it cringe tho or am i spitting straight truths
into the mic
wisdom is UNDERSTNANDING why the tomato doesn't belong in the salad
jesus christ
not just the knowledge that it doesn't belong without any clue as to the reason
okay that's a more exact way of phrasing it sure
there is a major difference
I wish for a nuclear winter.
a little bit
Comprehension is realizing that all fruits are also vegetables
it's easy to 'know'; it's hard to 'understand'
comprehension isn't understanding though
UHM ACTUALLY AS A BOTANIST @Hexidecimark YOU NEED TO STOP MANSPLAINING
it's just assimilation of a knowledge base
i noticed that first with millenials
i''d review a book i read with a milenial who read the book and ask about what they thought the author was trying to say with a particular passage
and it was like talking with a person who has auspergers
ass burgers
they could only recall the most superficial of details
but no depth
i feel compelled to point out that realism, objectivity, empiricism, and a belief in reason as a path to truth are all aspects of modernism, which many human beings do not actually adhere to
this is true
we have large swaths of the public who are either pre-modernist or post-modernist.
objectivity and subjectivity are qualifiers of perception
truth lies outside perception
what even *is* post modernism? is just....a blank void of nothingness and death ultimately
and is asymptotic
some people legitimately believe that truth is socially constructed
