@everyone Daily Question 🔖

- Should government be more or less powerful? (Authoritarianism vs Libertarianism) Please answer in terms of both economic and social policy control

2019-11-23 22:26:00 UTC

Shouldnt exist

2019-11-23 22:26:10 UTC

Less

2019-11-23 22:26:25 UTC

Government should be more powerful state wise but less powerful in individual lives.

2019-11-23 22:26:47 UTC

Government should have more power both in economics and social/individual aspects

2019-11-23 22:27:10 UTC

For example, banning homosexuality, various drugs, promoting modesty and abstinence

2019-11-23 22:27:47 UTC

Less government power only works with a moral society when the entire society as a whole is intelligent

2019-11-23 22:27:58 UTC

And can understand their individual moral responsibility

2019-11-23 22:28:04 UTC

Which is not the case in real life

2019-11-23 22:28:14 UTC

Government should encourage moral expanse and nationalismZ

2019-11-23 22:28:31 UTC

Part of the reason the society is such a mess is because the government doesn’t support it

2019-11-23 22:28:57 UTC

Attika I don't think you realize that in order to encourage and indeed enforce a moral code the government inheritly needs more power over the individual

2019-11-23 22:29:22 UTC

I don’t want the government forcing itself on me.

2019-11-23 22:29:27 UTC

The individual who wants to be homosexual should not be allowed to be homosexual

2019-11-23 22:29:33 UTC

1950s government worked well.

2019-11-23 22:29:37 UTC

I agree

2019-11-23 22:29:45 UTC

A good authoritarian government is one that can afford to remain largely unintrusive in people's private lives

2019-11-23 22:29:50 UTC

Bit of both

2019-11-23 22:29:50 UTC

^

2019-11-23 22:29:56 UTC

I could go with that.

2019-11-23 22:30:17 UTC

@Attika During the 1950's the government burned anti-state books, suppressed anti-state speech and banned anti-state articles from being published

2019-11-23 22:30:22 UTC

Is that what you mean?

2019-11-23 22:30:28 UTC

Yes

2019-11-23 22:30:33 UTC

Nice

2019-11-23 22:31:17 UTC

I think the state should allow dissenting opinions and freedom of speech, but not popular anti-state speech and anti-nationalist ideas.

2019-11-23 22:31:19 UTC

Pornography should be banned as well, requiring government control over the internet

2019-11-23 22:31:26 UTC

Social media platforms should be nationalized

2019-11-23 22:31:39 UTC

Yes.

2019-11-23 22:31:49 UTC

Allowing some dissenting opinions creates a snowball effect

2019-11-23 22:32:04 UTC

Porn would go through a slow phase of being uprooted imo

2019-11-23 22:32:08 UTC

I came up with a better system of allowing dissenting opinions

2019-11-23 22:32:10 UTC
2019-11-23 22:32:20 UTC

Being socially shunned like smoking is, and then gradually banned

2019-11-23 22:32:21 UTC

Oh?

2019-11-23 22:33:00 UTC

Ban dissenting opinions completely, but if you have a dissenting opinion you can write a letter and send it directly to the leader for consideration, this also works as a direct means of suggestions to government

2019-11-23 22:33:23 UTC

@☭ ⊕ Korovsky ⊕ ☭ Yes. Rig the social system to punish dissenting views instead of banning it

2019-11-23 22:33:26 UTC

You wouldn't be punished for writing dissenting opinions in a letter directly to the leader
