When Jesus said he came to Earth to pit brother v brother, he was specifically talking about that you should put God before family loyalties. Same here. Then most families were not Christian - it is saying if your family is not Christian then you should abandon them in favor of God

2019-09-17 19:56:26 UTC

Do not value family over God

2019-09-17 20:01:55 UTC

Okay. I actually agree with that assessment, God should always come first. So why did he say it without any similar context?

2019-09-17 20:01:58 UTC

He used that as his opening statement

2019-09-17 20:02:17 UTC

He didn’t say “Value God over Family.”

2019-09-17 20:04:11 UTC

He used that as a flagship statement when speaking to a large crowd.

2019-09-17 20:07:35 UTC

@Attika Because he already preached loyalty to God is supreme

2019-09-17 20:07:58 UTC

And when he did preach - most of his listeners families were not Christian - they knew what he was talking about

2019-09-17 20:12:33 UTC

True. I can get agree with what you are saying. But there are still other points where he contradicts Torah. In fact right here he explicitly states that he contradicts Torah.

2019-09-17 20:18:39 UTC

@Attika And?

2019-09-17 20:18:51 UTC

Christianity opposes the Torah and Judaism

2019-09-17 20:18:54 UTC

That is expected

2019-09-17 20:18:58 UTC

I know.

2019-09-17 20:19:03 UTC

That’s the problem.

2019-09-17 20:19:09 UTC

Although I do support Christianity.

2019-09-17 20:19:17 UTC

Why do you favor the Torah then

2019-09-17 20:20:47 UTC

My brethren are Christians and I appreciate that. I would like them to go back to Christianity and ditch this secular nonsense. I favor Torah because it adds a stability to my life. I have guidelines I need to follow and I genuinely believe it’s correct. Not just choosing a religion to follow, but something deep down I appreciate and believe.

2019-09-17 20:21:13 UTC

Sad

2019-09-17 20:21:25 UTC

Christianity is far more applicable

2019-09-17 20:24:41 UTC

BuddhaGang anyone?

2019-09-17 20:31:50 UTC

🤷🏼‍♂️

2019-09-17 20:32:02 UTC

I support Christianity.

2019-09-17 20:32:30 UTC

But I am Jewish by religion. Or you could just call me a Torah follower.

2019-09-17 20:32:34 UTC

Damn
Buddhagang sad

2019-09-17 20:33:18 UTC

@Attika do you believe the talmud?

2019-09-17 20:33:26 UTC

No.

2019-09-17 20:33:32 UTC

I vehemently despise the Talmud.

2019-09-17 20:33:42 UTC

good

2019-09-17 20:34:00 UTC

It’s the reason the Jews are so screwed up.

2019-09-17 20:34:20 UTC

I see

2019-09-17 20:35:01 UTC

What were Jews like before the Talmud started becoming populat

2019-09-17 20:35:51 UTC

Less selfish and self-centered. Part of what the Talmud teaches is Jewish supremacy.

2019-09-17 20:36:07 UTC

They were closer to like me.

2019-09-17 20:40:51 UTC

When did the Talmud start becoming popular?

2019-09-17 20:42:01 UTC

It’s always been around, but it become popular in two giant spurts. It first took big roots back after the inquisition, and the second time was after WW2

2019-09-17 20:43:50 UTC

I can see why they became popular after those events

2019-09-17 20:45:44 UTC

Lols yeah.

2019-09-17 20:45:51 UTC

But two wrongs don’t make a right.

2019-09-17 20:47:29 UTC

I thought it came about after Jesus’s time or something since I’ve heard it mentioned Jesus in hell

2019-09-17 20:52:24 UTC

Its been around since even before Jesus. But only the hyper-religious or the Kabbalah Jews even payed it any attention. But after those major events it kinda took off.
