genesis 34:25-31
^^^everyone read this
I just wished both churches were still united
Roman and Byzantine
I asked my pastor and he told me there is no biblical precedent that the church in that rock is singular absolutely, but rather referes to *all* churches that are in Christ, be they Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant
As there’s apostolic succession in both churches
I've also had some heated feuds with Catholics as some say that Protestants can't enter heaven
Or aren't blessed by Jesus
Well Peter founded a church and established a line of succession, with which they could set doctrine.
The sheer egotism behind some Catholics is heretical
The Orthodox and Roman Catholic Church are the only two legitimate churches in my opinion
Why didn't the powers of Peter transfer?
Peter could raise people from the dead
Not everyone can perform miracles
But the "legislation" powers for lack of a better term did
The Pope is still a man
but also the Vicar of Christ
Jesus said there is no middle man between everyone and Christ
You pray directly to Christ
I forget which verse, I'll see if I can find it - but it says that in terms of scripture that we each can interpretat what it says
The Pope just sets the doctrine for the church
Not some higher human authority
The current pope, I refuse to believe is legitimate
In any way
Most Catholics agree
But according to the lineage
He is
He has committed many heresies that directly conflict with past popes and the church
Unless the Cardinals selection process was rigged
Technically
Which I belihe it was
The next pope could name him a heretic
Taking him out of succession
The church will never fail, but clergy and the *human*, church have and will continue to fail
Most cardinals directly oppose the current Pope
And I do believe when it mentions *the church* in scripture
It does not relate to the apostolic church directly
But the aetherial concept of it
