Yes, was just confirming the architect, who designed the Fenestrelle Fortress.

2019-03-12 21:02:26 UTC

Prefer his stuff over Vitruvius, at least in aesthetic terms.

2019-03-12 21:02:55 UTC

@Flat But yeah, good stuff, would appreciate the names of the architects of these buildings, but that's just a minor trifle.

But ye, a magical alliance of a Coevorden Fortress and some chinese mountain monastery. I like.

The most peculiar part of the architecture is the collusion of the ancient russian monastic architecture and the Baroque style, but it works out very well.

2019-03-12 21:20:10 UTC

By the by, this interiour dome is made out of wood.

2019-03-12 21:22:29 UTC

Very difficult to achieve.

Very good formwork, hard to do so without the modern 3D digital monkeying.

2019-03-12 21:47:47 UTC

Absolutely hideous

2019-03-12 21:58:54 UTC

I wouldn't say I disregard this opinion on the subject, but only in respect of your feelings.

2019-03-12 22:00:20 UTC

The only good pic is the inside of the orchestra building

2019-03-12 22:02:33 UTC

Ye, glulam should be more used in constructions like this, especially considering its bendable properties.

2019-03-12 22:04:07 UTC

like on the outside it looks hideous

2019-03-12 22:06:46 UTC

Fair, matter of opinion.

2019-03-12 22:06:54 UTC

What do you think of the New Jerusalem?

2019-03-12 22:07:28 UTC

Strange name

2019-03-12 22:07:34 UTC

but the only thing I find iffy is the blue

2019-03-12 22:07:51 UTC

other than that pretty nice

2019-03-12 22:10:23 UTC

It has quite a bit to do with the proclivity of Russian Orthodox architecture towards colour in churches.

2019-03-12 22:10:45 UTC

Visited it during winters only, so that was covered up by snow, beautiful stuff.

Made from only wood, no glue or nails.
