That's what I was taught, anyway

2017-11-28 00:51:38 UTC

Yeah exactly,

2017-11-28 00:52:03 UTC

And its kinda hard to do that too on digital but it should still apply

2017-11-28 00:53:17 UTC

It is man. Is there a particular area on my drawing you're referencing? The skin was supposed to be a blue-grey, but appears to be more grey when I look at it.

2017-11-28 00:54:38 UTC

Well, all of it really since it looks like you used the same tactic for the whole picture, but im gonna draw your attention to the orange hair since its easier

2017-11-28 00:55:19 UTC

To shade her hair you would want to use a more red color, or lean to a more red color,

2017-11-28 00:55:46 UTC

And for highlights you want use yellow

2017-11-28 00:56:05 UTC

But the thing is theres such an easy solution

2017-11-28 00:56:16 UTC

Brb im gonna show you with pictures

2017-11-28 00:58:34 UTC

So you have this beautiful color you want

2017-11-28 00:59:15 UTC

But you want to make it shaded, so you first instinct is to just move the dial in the middle towards the dark area right?

2017-11-28 00:59:26 UTC

Yeah

2017-11-28 00:59:34 UTC

Yeah dont do that thats bad

2017-11-28 00:59:42 UTC

2017-11-28 01:00:07 UTC

Instead focus on the dial that surrounds the traingle and nudge it towards the red

2017-11-28 01:00:29 UTC

And BAM with a lil more adjusting you got some good colors goin on

2017-11-28 01:00:42 UTC

2017-11-28 01:00:49 UTC

Same with highlights

2017-11-28 01:00:58 UTC

Nudge it the other way

2017-11-28 01:01:18 UTC

Ah, thank you!! I really appreciate your tips!!

2017-11-28 01:01:44 UTC

They're really helpful, as I am currently drawing an actual comic.

2017-11-28 01:01:51 UTC

^^ im glad to help! I feel like you would make great use of it

2017-11-28 01:01:51 UTC

At this moment.

2017-11-28 01:01:55 UTC

Oooh

2017-11-28 01:02:01 UTC

Im interested whats it about

2017-11-28 01:02:57 UTC

It's essentially about a goddess named Ragona, who's commissioned by her sisters to help create a world, and the trials she faces in that world.

2017-11-28 01:03:32 UTC

She's the goddess of magic, and a lot of the issues she faces are really just various fascets of humanity.

2017-11-28 01:03:33 UTC

Oooh

2017-11-28 01:03:53 UTC

Thats actually a really cool concept

2017-11-28 01:03:58 UTC

How far are you

2017-11-28 01:03:58 UTC

Thank you!!

2017-11-28 01:04:35 UTC

Just at the beginning. I've been plotting the story and characters for years, now I just need to tweak it and draw it.

2017-11-28 01:05:29 UTC

I'm planning on posting it to Facebook, Tumblr, deviantart and LINEWebtoon

2017-11-28 01:06:28 UTC

The best way to do a comic is to get started and keep going and dont worry about making it absolutely perfect otherwise it will never get done

2017-11-28 01:06:44 UTC

And you shall improve as you ho

2017-11-28 01:07:05 UTC

And maybe later if youre still interested you can always go back and re make the comic

2017-11-28 01:07:16 UTC

But make sure you get it started

2017-11-28 01:08:25 UTC

I just feel thats important because most people who r interested in doing this get hung up and theyre so focused on trying to ne better than they are, they never get the ball rolling

2017-11-28 01:09:07 UTC

Oh I know I'm not the best, but I am absolutely determined to start it!
