Hey, i'm seeking advice. i'm building a bit of a character/personality for a series. I'm wondering if anyone here might be able to help.

so the character is from the Northeast U.S. and a bit brash. The character is an unreasonable polarized type. overly so...

Here's my problem. While writing for him I find myself over analyzing and killing the jokes/character by seeing too much of both sides or emathizing with both sides. I'm wondering if anyone here has experience writing for this type of character when you don't exactly hold the same values they might.
