2016-10-30 18:53:13 UTC

everyone seems to forget that their definition of socialism isn't what it actually is. denmark and sweden are not socialist countries. they have large social programs, but they are also highly capitalistic

2016-10-30 18:53:14 UTC

woop

2016-10-30 18:53:25 UTC

and their social programs are not working well for them now last i checked

2016-10-30 18:53:27 UTC

No chill

2016-10-30 18:53:45 UTC

yeah but we arent those countries

2016-10-30 18:54:00 UTC

and denmark and sweden aren't doing that bad honestly

2016-10-30 18:54:02 UTC

better than us

2016-10-30 18:54:05 UTC

Yeah but you forget

2016-10-30 18:54:06 UTC

so good enough

2016-10-30 18:54:11 UTC

yeah

2016-10-30 18:54:12 UTC

They have low populations

2016-10-30 18:54:13 UTC

of rich people

2016-10-30 18:54:21 UTC

false

2016-10-30 18:54:23 UTC

America has high populations of poor/middle classes

2016-10-30 18:54:25 UTC

"rich:

2016-10-30 18:54:30 UTC

"rich"*

2016-10-30 18:54:48 UTC

Lemme apply some of your logic

2016-10-30 18:54:54 UTC

the issue is not our countries overall wealth, but the GINI INDEX

2016-10-30 18:54:57 UTC

How would you know you don't even live in Denmark or Sweden???????

2016-10-30 18:55:00 UTC

obviously

2016-10-30 18:55:08 UTC

i've at least visited each

2016-10-30 18:55:15 UTC

and stayed a while

2016-10-30 18:55:20 UTC

and have close friends there

2016-10-30 18:55:27 UTC

and i'm pretty into polsci

2016-10-30 18:55:29 UTC

I'm stuck in New York state for the next 3 years

2016-10-30 18:55:32 UTC

how would i know i dont live in those countries? because i live in the us...

2016-10-30 18:55:34 UTC

at least

2016-10-30 18:55:43 UTC

I've been to most scandinavian countrys, had a girlfriend from Finland for 2 years and lived with her for 2 months

2016-10-30 18:55:43 UTC

and econ

2016-10-30 18:56:00 UTC

The systems in Scandinavia work because of their low populations of skilled workers

2016-10-30 18:56:06 UTC

highly educated people

2016-10-30 18:56:16 UTC

thus the whole idea of college being cheap/free

2016-10-30 18:56:20 UTC

it self-sustains

2016-10-30 18:56:27 UTC

Yeah, but it wouldn't work in the US

2016-10-30 18:56:31 UTC

why?

2016-10-30 18:56:31 UTC

it would

2016-10-30 18:56:32 UTC

similarly to how it didn't work here in the UK

2016-10-30 18:56:43 UTC

how does it not work over there?

2016-10-30 18:56:46 UTC

i hear good thigns

2016-10-30 18:56:48 UTC

Because high populations of unskilled workers and a high saturation of bad degrees
