it's a pretty badass game

what kind of game is it

I think it was released in 2015. It's a retro kinda game. Think oldschool Castlevania mixed with Demon's Crest

it's got those 8bitish graphics, but it's got damn beautiful art and music

funny thing is, you start out controlling like a typical 8 bit character, all clunky and stiff and kinda slow. after you find a few upgrades, through, you start controlling like a more agile character from a 16 or 32 bit game, like X or Zero.

and the story's pretty cool, too. The whole thing is pretty reminiscent of BRUTAL 90s animu stuff like Berserk.

I'm spoiling just a bit here, but the plot is basically that the gods who created the world of the game were in a really bad mood when they did it, so because they created the world when they were pissed, it ended up being a shithole where everything is dying and miserable
