My setup is waaay OP

2 mani monitors.

One day I'll have 6 monitors and not know whats happening to my life.

And then, the problem will only get worse from there.

I just want a keyboard lights, another monitor

I remember when all I wanted was two monitors.

Then I realized fuck two monitors, I gotta catch em all.

I'ma make a whole dome out of monitors.

And then when I make one dome, I'ma make another dome of monitors.

Muahahahaha

What about those fancy desks with an individual moving platform for each monitor?

My dad has a nice mount for his monitors.

I can't justify spending $200 CAD on one though.

One troubling catch, a good quality mounting system is incredibly heavy. So it's an absolute bitch to set up.

My desk would probably hate any kind of monitor mount too.

My desk has a built in shelf over it.

I also have four monitors that would need mounting.

A simple mount for a single TV screen is rather heavy. Monitor mounts would have more moving parts and it'd be out of heavy metals so the whole rig would be very difficult to move around and it might pull down a shelf if you don't have reinforced anchors into the studs.

I did say the installation was the big catch. There's quite a few complications the weight alone introduces. You have to make sure if you put it on something that it won't collapse it, that the floor won't break if it's on something or on the floor directly, that a shelf will support it if it's on it (probably not) that it's securely anchored into multiple studs if it's wall mounted.

Would be nice if you designed a room explicitly for that in mind in building a new house.

My desk is made of basically 100% metal and I live in a basement 😄
