Where I am we get very similar weather as much of southern Canada where most of the people are. So we regularly join in on the mocking of deep south Americans who freak out over a light dusting of snow.

Snow usually at most delays school, never cancels. Only ice cancels.

Snow is no big deal.

Ice is dangerous.

Ice doesn't even cancel school where I live.

It never snows where I live

Only time we've cancelled school is when it reached -45c

The pictures you showed are very simialr to the snow we get here.
