The Daddies two biological kids were the ones recieving most of the abuse, the step moms three seemed to doing much more fairly, and also behind a lot of the abuse towards the other two.

But the fact of the matter remains: what we Did see; fake or not, was unacceptable.

So the mother has emergency custody, that's good

There will probably still be some fighting to do.

Unless the father and stepmother just up and tap out.

And you would think *Aw if they're abusing their child\ren, they must not care about them much, so they shouldn't put up a fight to keep them*

Sadly, it's rarely that.

That applies to some, but not all.

Most of the time I'd say

Some Do care about the child\ren, in some way or another... But their own frustrations and inability to deal with that frustration, sometimes due to themselves having had experienced abuse, or perhaps having a mental illness, or just dealing with a tough time and not having a proper outlet, can let out their frustration on their children

Not because they don't love them, but because they can't deal with their own frustration.

Well the relatinoship between a parent and a child is something else

I was talking specifically about winning the custody of children

and why it alwyas turns into a quagmire

It's more about their own ego than the children

There could also be some projection going on; the two children could represent strong feelings against the biological mother, so which the father could be *punishing* the mother, in his own mind, by punishing the children.

Which does not mean he does not have feelings for them

Ego, especially in this case I think, is a big part of it too

but you know what comes how a parent should treat their children, the biggest problem there is

Our culture says children are so sweet and loveable

that's all they are

It doesn't acknowledge the fact that there is an evil side to their behaviour

they're insanely manipulative

and that's why parents to fail to raise their kids properly

it's not that they don't love their children
