Id argue they had to regress a little for mechanical improvement and urbanization

They werent savages either

Living on a farm was actually cleaner than working in a factory or mine all day

They also had strong social constructs and ethics

And I dont have to worry about cramping in with 5 other tenets in a 200 sqft room
