oh yeah some people don't operate in terms of question/answer type thinking
either they do it better in practice or better on paper
or both
better in practice kinda people
I know people who got 2.5 GPA's in school who manage people with 3.8+ GPA people of the same work experience
Calling yourself intelligent is like how people validate themselves by saying "i have a degree in psychology"
I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering
well they wouldn't have a degree in anything if they werent tested to prove their understanding of it
It's pretty much an appeal to authority
Not if they're talking about the subject of psychology
nothing wrong with that as long as the authority is accurate
If you are arguing about a subject you use reasoning or empirical proof
Not say "hurr durr i have a degree so im right and you're wrong"
of course not
You're forgetting about ethos and pathos
Once again, L2Rhetoric
if you were arguing about something, that means you use reasoning and evidence
That's just logos
the degree just helps show that you understand the evidence you are using
since you studied it
To give an actual example
I've debated with "race realists" and I've sourced anthropologist studies, that would be dependant on credibility, that's not the same as an appeal to authority
That's not the same as validating yourself by saying you have a degree in something
If I myself said I have a degree in anthropology then it'd be an appeal to authority
When you argue with someone A LOT of the times they link to a trusted or "trusted" source and tell you that your opinion is wrong because that source has authority and you're just some rando on the interwebs
You can't credit yourself
Yah because people on the internet can be arrogant af
I think that a lot of the times people will disregard what you're saying if you don't appeal to authority
generally an authority becomes trusted when other people validate their findings?
Appeal to authority is different from have an established authority on a subject
>race realism
Are there biological differences between races? Yes. Otherwise we wouldn’t have different skin colours. It’s like the difference between a Husky and a German Shepard
Do they mean fucking anything at all beyond medical issues? I think fucking not.
Nobody has any authority on a subject in an argument
I think it depends on the context.
If they are like "you're wrong cause I have a degree" then yeah. It's retarded.
Race realism is just a tool used for a white nationalist narrative
Are you talking about IQ averages?
Why?
Haha
Retards
According to that it's the Asians and the jews that have the highest IQs
How is it white supremacy?
Goo goo iq gaga race goo goo gaga
