I plan on getting a car pretty soon and I was wondering if I could get a second opinion on tricking it out with some RGB lights, namely in the execution of such a thing

I was thinking about installing a touchscreen hooked up to a Raspberry Pi and using that as the interface, from there I’d install the lights and run cables to the Raspberry. What I’m unsure of is how to configure the software and even a few of the hardware components.

As far as I’m aware, the lights themselves would have to be plugged into an RGB controller like Corsair’s, or at least a USB 2.0 header hub, and then that would connect to the Pi. From there, I could install an RGB software interface such as Asus Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Lighting or Corsair Hue. The touchscreen would speak for itself, allowing me to control the settings for each light. An additional benefit to this would being able to set up USB dash-cams hooked to the same system, possibly requiring an SSD or HDD.

I suppose the biggest problem is how this would all plug into power in a motorized vehicular device...
