There's a huge dark underbelly of furry communities that shines through the most, and I've encountered a lot of predatorial people.

I have a few theories as to why there's such an alarming population of deviants and predators in the furry community.

You want my thoughts? It’s a mask; a facade. A breeding ground of predatory behavior. I think they were the minority of genuine furries, then the predators saw a chance to prey on and victimize easier and used the community as a conduit for that.

I’m not questioning your observational skills

Predators have a lot in common. The behavior stems from personal trauma mostly. In an alarming amount of cases, victims of heinous crimes later grow up to become a perpetrator themselves.

The furry community not only resembles a comminity, but it resembles a mask and anonymity. Predators can capitalize on the nature of the fantasmal community, and easily so because the general makeup of the furry community is outcasted people or loners. They don't make friends easily outside these groups because of the general notoriety it has.

This combination of factors makes any underage member of the community a prime target, and easily accessible.
