Balanced headphones are usually just flat which means no frequencies are outstandingly good, you'd equalize them to taste rather than having the manufacturer guess what you want.

if you want a v shape you can make a neutral sound that way too without major distortion

A flat base is better than an already eq'd base

also eq does not mean you have to make everything equal, you can change it as required
