2019-10-19 22:34:18 UTC

Look ppl think it was bad for everyone which is not true it was bad for slave labour but rest of ppl lived normal life

2019-10-19 22:34:18 UTC

through an extractive economy

2019-10-19 22:34:31 UTC

Communism failed in Russia for the same reason it failed everywhere else:

*You cannot replace the millions of free thinking individuals that make up the free market with a bureaucracy.*

Wages, prices, incentives. Everything falls apart as more and more arbitrary value is applied to goods and services.

The gulags, the pogroms, “human nature”, corruption, Stalins leadership, the conflict with the west, *everything* is secondary to the single, true cause of soviet downfall: Communism itself does not work. In theory, or in reality. It is a catastrophically flawed idea to begin with.

2019-10-19 22:34:39 UTC

says those that don't want to accept reality, Tato

2019-10-19 22:35:44 UTC

China stopped collapsing when they stopped being communist.

2019-10-19 22:35:49 UTC

still communist, giving citizens an allowance to buy shit

2019-10-19 22:35:54 UTC

not the same as capitalism

2019-10-19 22:36:05 UTC

The soviet union used an extractive economy that benefit a select few (forced labour, forced relocation, removal of rights, centralization of power) to create brief economic prosperity until its eventual collapse.
An extractive economy cannot adapt (fear of creative destruction

2019-10-19 22:36:13 UTC

china STILL IS COMMUNISM

2019-10-19 22:36:51 UTC

@Scale_e china is still not in good shape, they might actually be undergoing the needed "glorious revolution" via hk but it is yet to be decided.

2019-10-19 22:36:58 UTC

Still. National Socialism is still Socialism.

2019-10-19 22:36:58 UTC

Big # 1 Chinaa for China # 1

2019-10-19 22:37:09 UTC

capitalism would require people get to KEEP their own money and spend it as they see fit; they cannot; capitalism would ALSO allow those most successful at something to keep a majority portion of their earnings proportionally; they cannot

2019-10-19 22:37:32 UTC

After complaining about the Imperialist powers extracting resources from Africa the Soviet Union hating this decided to create the paramount extractive economy in their own nation, imao

2019-10-19 22:37:34 UTC

China is communism, giving people an allowance which is ALOT different than earning a salary

2019-10-19 22:38:05 UTC

2019-10-19 22:39:26 UTC

china doesn't meet the definition of a capitalist country

2019-10-19 22:39:28 UTC

Again, not communist.
Some goods are subsidized.
They have a social welfare.
Sure.
*But the government does not own the means of production.*
*They don’t set prices.*
They just regulate them up the wazoo.
