This was another metric I calculated, I assigned a score based on minimum wage divided by cost of living and sorted the results. Missouri just passed $12 minimum wage to be in effect in a few years.
Absolutely, Yord.
Problem is these type of people think they get food for free by selling out their asses to whomever offers them the most.
They are actually happy to be croocked.
If that was the correct word.
I mean the rich con them into submission and they thank them for that.
Oh, no, that's terrible, @Torvarren. That'll drain economic development from the districts without economic scale on their side, but I suppose that'll continue to force people to move into urban areas, making for greater efficiency. Trade-offs. I still despise barriers to entry, regardless.
And the border areas will have people from neighboring states wanting those city jobs.
Indeed.
There is exactly the same example in Islam, do you know what is zakat?
It is essentially charity but in the name of religion.
This level of Minimum wage hike in Missouri is equal to if California jumped to an $18.15/hour minimum wage.
I think what socialists and islamists do here is remarkably similar.
They essentially *buy off* the population by giving a *free ride* to the poor.
But one do it for faith, the other-for ideology.
That's certainly a large contributor to the issue, as you said, willing to sell their asses, @yordanyordanov. That's why Republics structured by Federalism are best, preserving itself against these degenerative tendencies that unfold in democracies.
However, it works just the same-if you want that nice free ride, please, convert.
Socialism or islam-it doesn't matter, the result is the same.
When Dave Rubin had Tulsi on, he had to explain to her what the Welfare trap is. That people can't afford to get raises or get a promotion because they lose government benefits.
@Jeremy The problem is how do you fight it?
I know, @Torvarren. My uncle is a Supreme Court justice for the State of Missouri, and my father was born there, himself. I've got a lot of small-business family from Sikeston to East Prairie. These hikes are going to decimate the micro-economies of their towns.
I've also got quite a few farm-owning family members out there, too.
I can tell you I'm seeing its effects with my very own eyes here in Bulgaria-people are willing to sell their freedom off for benefits.
Indeed, @yordanyordanov. I'm not sure if you can, once the mob has already seized control. They'll never have enough sense in their heads to know what their best interests are, in terms of governance.
They say we prefer a car, an apartment and a state sponsored excursion to the sea every year, then, actually having the freedom to work for them ourselves.
This kind of thinking is what is killing not only the US, but the whole damn world.
Mhmm.
And this is the wave the Chinese and the KGB are jumping off to replace America.
Can you not see out there, from the US?
In here it is clear as a day.
Oh, I see it. I see it everyday, all day.
It's all I can talk about, really, economics day-in and day-out.
When America stops exporting its spirit of liberty, initiative and self-awareness, some idiots from CCP, the KGB or the future caliphate come and say:
"Sell, your Soul to me, We've got the best prices!"
And the sheeple follow.
That's how they beat you both externally and internally I believe.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
People in Hong Kong waving American flags singing the National Anthem during protests. China tells America to stop interfering in their politics.
And did you see what happens then?
The problem is the threat is now an internal disease, spreading like wildfire, but equally so, enlightenment principles of our founding are resurgent on a scale I've never before seen.
It was in the other_politics channel, so I don't know should i repost it here as well?
